ByeDock / Legal
Privacy policy
Only transaction information, device identifiers, activation records, and voluntary crash reports.
Updated October 4, 2026
1. Scope and operator
This policy applies to the ByeDock application, byedock.com, and related purchase and licensing services. ByeDock is operated by Mei Guanding, who is responsible for the processing and protection of personal information described in this policy. Privacy contact: support@byedock.com.
We retain only transaction information, device identifiers, activation records, and crash reports you agree to submit. We do not collect or store your window contents, documents, browsing history, or app-use behavior. Purchase email is part of transaction and licensing data; device identifiers may also be personal data.
2. Local data and macOS permissions
App lists, window titles, search text, pins, recent items, appearance settings, and custom images are processed and stored on your Mac without uploading to us.
Accessibility and other macOS permissions are used only for local window management and system actions. Granting permission does not send window or screen contents to us or third parties. You can revoke permissions in System Settings, which may disable related features.
3. The four categories we retain
Transaction information: purchase email, order ID, license type, device count, amount, taxes, currency, purchase time, and payment or refund status, for license delivery, order notices, refunds, and transaction obligations.
Device identifiers: identify the Mac bound to a license, enforce device limits, and support deactivation. They are not used to track activity across apps or build behavioral profiles.
Activation records: license codes or verification records, licensed major version, device-binding status, trial-start state, and activation, deactivation, and verification times, to validate licenses and trial duration.
Crash reports: ByeDock version, macOS version, processor architecture, crash time, error type, and the stack needed to diagnose ByeDock, submitted with your affirmative agreement and used only to investigate software faults.
4. Purposes and optional crash reports
Transaction, device, and activation information is used only to fulfill purchases and licenses, process refunds, provide necessary support, and meet legal obligations. We do not sell personal information, use it for advertising tracking or model training, or collect feature-use analytics.
Crash reports require separate consent, with their contents disclosed and available to review before submission. Refusal or withdrawal does not affect a purchased license. Reports must exclude document contents, other apps’ window titles, passwords, private file paths, and full memory dumps.
Local diagnostic logs may contain window titles or paths and are not uploaded automatically. If you contact support, your email is used only to resolve that request. Its body and attachments are deleted after resolution; information needed for orders or refunds is retained only as transaction records, without an additional user profile.
5. Payments, network requests, and providers
Waffo Pancake, the merchant of record, provides payment, tax, invoice, refund, and customer portal services. ByeDock receives only transaction information necessary to deliver and manage licenses and does not store full card numbers or security codes. Information independently processed by Waffo Pancake is subject to its privacy policy.
License codes and purchase emails require online verification, using device identifiers and activation records. Website fonts are served by this site without requests to Google Fonts. The website does not use advertising pixels or behavioral analytics tools.
Network requests require providers to temporarily process connection information such as IP addresses. We do not retain this as additional user profiles or app-activity logs. Providers’ necessary network, payment, and email processing follows their applicable rules. Hosting, email, licensing, and crash-report providers receive only data needed for their services.
Necessary processing may take place outside your region, depending on the service provider’s location. International processing must comply with applicable legal requirements.
6. Retention and deletion
Transaction records are retained under applicable tax, accounting, and dispute requirements. First-purchase and refund status is limited to the minimum transaction information needed to check refund eligibility.
Device identifiers and activation records needed for a valid license are retained while it remains valid. Ending maintenance does not remove records needed to verify a perpetual license. After refund or lawful termination, records not legally required are deleted within 90 days.
Crash reports are retained for at most 90 days after receipt, then deleted or irreversibly anonymized. You manage local settings on your device. Extended retention for legal requirements or unresolved disputes is limited to necessary records, which are deleted under applicable schedules when the matter ends.
7. Information security
License and report transfers must use HTTPS/TLS with restricted access to retained data. Keep your license code secure and do not send full payment-card details or unrelated private contents to support.
In the event of a personal data breach, affected users and competent authorities will be notified as required by applicable law.
8. Data subject rights
Subject to applicable law, you have rights of access, copying, correction, erasure, restriction, objection, and withdrawal of consent, and may lodge a complaint with a competent supervisory authority. Requests may be submitted to the privacy contact listed in this policy. We respond within 3 business days and process requests within statutory time limits.
Deleting records essential for license verification may affect future activation. We explain the impact first and do not automatically treat every deletion request as license surrender. Legally required transaction records may not be immediately erased; we explain refusals.
Purchasers must be at least 18 with capacity to contract. We do not intentionally collect minors’ information; unauthorized submissions are investigated and handled as required by law.
9. Policy updates
Material changes are notified at least 14 days in advance through purchase email or the application, with the new version and effective date published online. New optional collection or purposes require any necessary separate consent.
